Question Problem with multi-camera Furrion Vision S setup

I installed a 4-camera Furrion Vison S system last week and didn't have any issues with the install or getting the cameras sync'd to the monitor. All 4 cameras work, have good signal, are stable, and the audio even works as expected.

The problem that I've having is that the monitor will NOT stay in the "view all" mode. This is the primary reason that I purchased this setup and would prefer for this to be my "default" view. Instead the monitor randomly switches to one of the four cameras on full screen. Once it "locks in" on a single camera it stays there (at least until I get annoyed and change it back to "view all").

Regardless of what I configure in the various setup options, it will NOT hold the "view all" mode. I've tried shutting off motion detection, auto off, and even tweaked a few other settings. On a related note, I noticed that the settings do not always stay between power cycles either. Sometimes they will but, most often, the auto-off and motion detection settings will go back to 10-seconds and on (respectively) regardless of what I try setting them to.

Has anyone else had issues like this? Is there anything that I can do myself? I've searched for a way to update the software/firmware on the cameras and/or monitor but can't find anything. This is beyond annoying, especially since I've already drilled holes in my brand new 5th wheel to accommodate the cameras. I plan on calling Furrion later this week but will be on the road for much of the next few months making dealing with customer service difficult at best. Thanks!

Thank you for this posting. I am on a mission to also purchase this system. Heading to the Hershey RV show to check it out. Hopefully they will get this issue you are having fixed before I purchase it. I need mine for a Class A motor home and would have like to see the monitor change to side view when a signal light for that side is activated...I tried asking tech support this question but got no answer so far. Good luck and please let us know how you make out.

I finally got some time to sit down and play with this after calling Furrion tech support and ordering a second display (thinking that my first one was malfunctioning).

First, tech support indicated that the quad view is only temporary on devices with a date code prior to 2019. I was able to confirm this since my first unit had a date code of 112018 (Nov 2018, this code is part of the display serial number). After a few seconds, these displays will return to the previous full camera view unless another camera is selected.

On displays with a 2019 date code, this functionality can be turned off and the display can (and will) remain in the quad view. Again, I was able to confirm this with my second display with a date code of 052019 (May 2019). If you do happen to prefer the temporary quad view function, you can turn that on in the settings (this happened to be the default on my unit).

I assume that this is a software change only and that the hardware did not change but, sadly, there is no way to update the software on these displays. What you get when you buy the unit, is what you get. The only way to get the new functionality is to buy a new display (Furrion is happy to accommodate you at the tune of ~$450 for a 7 display).

I already submitted the return for the 2018 dated display and this will be going back tomorrow (Amazon). FWIW, my 2019 unit came from Camping World (Labor Day sale) but this is no guarantee that new orders will get a 2019 date coded display.

Dave, for your application, Im not sure if the Furrion unit has that functionality or not. I think that some of the Tadibrothers units can do this (the wiring is much more complex). Personally, I like having just the rear view enabled when changing lanes. I can see the side of the truck/trailer in my side mirrors and the camera doesnt add anything new. The rear camera view however, makes it very clear just how much clearance I have from the vehicle behind me (if any). I was actually surprised the first few times that I used this, I always assumed that I needed more clearance behind me than I actually do. Of course, if you have another use case in mind here... Id love to hear it. Good luck!

Hi Rebby and Thank You for your reply.

A RV dealer told me they had issues with the signals getting to the monitor and they are not going to sell this product any longer. I will be looking for anyone selling this at the Hershey RV show tomorrow to see what else I can find out.
Do you have the motion detection on your int that turns it on if there is motion around your RV? Did they charge you for the new monitor of they just exchanged it for the new one?

Mine does have the motion sensor function and it does work. I currently have it disabled though since I use it as an observation camera while on the road and not a "security camera" while parked (where I see the motion sensor being the most beneficial).

I actually bought 2 systems, one from Amazon and one from Camping World and returned the one with the older date code back to Amazon. Initially I thought that the one that I received from Amazon was defective, now I know that it was just running an older version of software on the monitor so there really wasn't anything "wrong" with it.
