Question about Facebook

We are totally frustrated! When we're using FB and scrolling down the page using the "Down" arrow at the bottom right, it will suddenly just start scrolling down on its own!

I can click anywhere up in the scroll bar and it will stop! Both our laptops do the same thing! We are running Microsoft Edge with Windows 10.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

There may be a setting in your settings but that is quite normal for most that I have done. It figures you are just wanting to get to a certain page without wasting time looking at every page on the way to the one you want.

Doesn't your mouse have a scroll wheel? If not here's what I'm using with my laptop as this one connects with bluetooth, much preferable to the one that require a bug plugged into a USB port.

I just use the up/down arrows on the keyboard.

IMO, your best bet would be to avoid FB.

My laptop doesn't use a mouse. It has a touchpad on the keyboard.

Most touchpads have a software control to help "drag and drop" actions and locks the button so to speak when you have held it down for more than a few seconds. You can check the touchpad settings, however I am not sure which settings. Many touchpads will let you scroll by simply using the right side of the touchpad, and others by using two fingers instead of one. You can see what actions and settings yours has with the touchpad settings in control panel. Perhaps the laptop vendor user manual will mention what options yours has and how to change them. ~CA

[QUOTE=dsnutes;5979766]Get a mouse[/QUOTE

I use my laptop on a tray in my lap, so there's nowhere to use a mouse.

I would agree with avoiding Facebook or buy a computer (Lenovo P50) with a mouse built into the keyboard. Seems like I have problems using a touchpad, maybe its because I am left handed.

You have accidentally turned on scroll lock. Search youtube for videos showing how to turn off scroll lock.

Here's how Microsoft says to turn it off:

When the computer starts scrolling on its own, are you seeing a little circle with a dot in the middle and up & down arrows as shown 5-1/2 minutes into this video? It is called pan mode and that causes it to scroll without touching anything, but you can change the scroll speed. If that auto-scroll starts, you can turn it off, but you may already be way down the page.
