I have the same Antenna and I don't notice that it is doing that when it is turned off. The only time it should search for a signal is when the channel is changed and it needs the other satellite. I am going to assume that once it is locked on a signal, or no request to find a satellite, it would remain motionless. You should be able to call Winegard and get some information. Also, did you set the dip switches yourself, or someone else do it? You could check them. I'm not sure if that would be the problem if you are receiving signals. Just a thought. Don't know how these new sophisticated electronics work any more..
p.s., I purchased a converter to plug the Carryout into for operations. The converter is hooked to my Engine Heater switch inside the MH. So I do have the ability to kill the power when I don't need it. Most times I forget and just leave it on.
