I had my 5510 back for one day, went south again. Called Rand Mc they emailed UPS scan, it now is on its way back to them for repair, or replacement. Time will tell. They think that my Mac install may be the problem? When it is back I will try the download on a PC Hope it works.

We got ours a week or two ago. Just tried it for a runn up north, this thing is Great. Best money we have spent in a while, love the routing feature RV or car. We used the RV route and it called out Speeding, Over loads, Curves & Tool Booths.
Now if I can figure out the rest of the options.

Rebelone: Don't let them tell you it's the Mac's fault. We have a mac and our 5510 works just fine. We even tried a different route than it programmed for us, and it gave us the "road weight limit exceeded" warning. We have not had any problems with it -- you may just have a lemon.

Called Rand M thursday about state of my RV 5510. They have it there. Do not know if repair or new one will be sent. I did ask to have it replaced as this is second time to send it back with same problem, this time they paid for the UPS return fee. I hope they replace it with new one? time will tell. llmrealestat,Thanks for the info about the Mac not being the problem.

Unit comes with a Cigar Lighter Plug-In, 120 Volt Power Supply & USB cord for Computor.
The more I play with it the more I like it. There are club discounts out there too.

Hey Buck454 ..... yes the USB port has duel duty as upgrades and power.
Airtool ..... This thing warns about curves in the road, Overlads to the road your on after you give your loaded weight, Speed warnings & height warning. I think this thing is Great.
I just upgraded my Ford factory GBPs last year $ 200.00 the thing is Junk compared to the new one. The RV Parks listing is great too. Private, State parks, National parks, County Parks & Wal-Marts. Tuckstops Just a pile of stuff.

Yogi, this sounds like a device I need, although computer ignorant, maybe I can get plenty of use from it. I find the navigation system in my wifes Enclave very useful. I am bood for match (I shoot CAS competition) in Hot Springs in September and we plan to drive from there to wife's sister in Sharptown Maryland. What a beginning trip for new motorhome (and driver). I think this GPS might help make the trip easier on me for sure. Seems Camping World may have best price at $319, you seen better.

The use of the USB port would only be needed on occasions, correct?

Any more info will be appreciated.

RVND - A Piece of Junk

I tried the RVND and found it to be junk. Way too slow and out dated compared to Garmin and Tom Tom units. The only upside was that it had some menus that led to RV POIs and such. It is a great idea to target the Rv community but the technology used to implement is old and slow slow slow. My unit kept freezing up anytime I wanted to edit a multi stop trip.

Currently evaluating the dezl 560LMT form Garmin and so far this is a keeper.

Shopping online for the R Mcnally TND5510 at Camping World. They have both the 5510 and also a TND 7710 listed. The specs give a 7 inch screen for the 7710. Anyone know if the 7710 and 5510 are basically the same except for screen size? They are both listed as GPS for 'truckers'. They have the 5510 listed as "NEW". Is it a newer model than the 7710 with a smaller screen, but tuned more for RVing than Truckin?

The TND 510 and TND 710 are the actual trucker versions. The Camping World is selling the RVND 5510 and RVND 7710, which are the RV versions. The RVND 7710 has not been released yet. They are scheduled to start shipping them 10/15. It is supposed to be an improvement over the RVND 5510 with additional features, and of course the larger screen.

5510 5". 7710 7". Do you see a pattern here anywhere?
