Re Mogul, western arc Eastern arc?

Ok, I have a Rf Mogul set up for Direct & I want to use it on Dish, Rf Mogul has the parts needed, new arm and Lnb, Dpp? Not using Hopper? But anyway, they say there's does western & eastern arcs? Now, people say the have used a Dish 1000.2 Western arc, with good results. Now, will this work for both arcs? Is a 1000.2 a 2 Lnb? I also see a 1000.4? Is that a hybrid?
Please dumb down answers for me
Thanks

1000.2 and 1000.4 are a kit of parts that include the reflector, the reflector base, the LNB arm, and the LNB + hardware.

1000.4 is for Eastern Arc Sats
1000.2 is for Western Arc Sats

Almost all TV markets west of the Miss river require Western Arc
There are 3-4 TV markets east of the Miss river that require Eastern Arc but almost all are on both WA and EA.

Trav'ler and Mogul by default do WA when setting up for Dish as this provides over 95 % coverage for all the local TV markets in the USA.

However, the farther east you go the lower the 129 Sat is in the sky and it can become more difficult to locate a parking location that has a clear view of the WA sats.

The spacing for the popular western arc (110, 119, 129) is 9 degrees and 10 degrees between the LNBs.

The eastern arc (61, 72, 77) spacing is 11 and 5 degrees.

So you can see that you won't get all three satellites if you point your western arc dish towards the east.

Once I was able to get 61 and 72 by manually pointing my western dish towards the east, but I was lucky that the skew was randomly close enough to get a signal on both at the same time.

Not true. Both dishes can do Eastern and Western arcs.

The only caveat is that if you're using a DPH (DISH Pro Hybrid) LNBF, then you have to use the 1000.2.

I'm not sure exactly what you're asking, so here goes . . .

If you plan on using a Hopper 3 with an RF Mogul, then you'll have to install a Western Arc Hybrid LNBF on your RF Mogul. Plus, you'll need to get a DISH Hybrid Solo Hub. See page 13 of the RF Mogul Eagle Manual.

DISH Eastern Arc LNBFs can NOT be used on an RF Mogul (or a Winegard Travler).

DISH programming on the Western Arc sats (110, 119, 129) is available in most places. However, if you park under trees, then all bets are off.

Thank you all, so I probably misunderstood the guy at Rf Mogul as the same Lnb won't work on eastern & western arcs. And have g a Western Lnb does not mean it won't do East of the Mississippi. I also now see that Rf Mogul uses the 1000.2 lnb when using Dish. So I'm going to try to install a 1000.2 lnb of EBay instead of the Rf mogul one because there $250 difference. So how do you aim it into the dome? Just aim it to the center? Is it that simple?
Thanks for your help
Oh, I'm not using a Hopper, so I think that's the Dpp?

I still fear that you don't understand the complexity of what you are doing. If you do it exactly right it will work. If you don't it won't work. I don't own a RF Mogul but there's going to be more to this than just changing the LNB and reflector. I suspect there's also going to be settings and or firmware to change, too.

There is NOT just one Western Arc LNB, buying on Ebay you need to understand what you are buying and the one you buy changes what you need to do, how many coax you need, what node or switch you need.

There are two different Western Arc LNBs, #1: Western Arc Hybrid Pro LNB or #2: Western Arc Pro Plus LNBF.

#1 has a Red Dish Logo on the LNBF, and you need a Hybrid Solo Node in line with the Hopper 3. Single Coax between port #1 on the LNBF and the ODU port on the Node.

#2 needs a DPH42 switch in line with the Hopper 3. Two Coax between port #1 and port #2 on the LNBF and port #1 and #2 on the DPH42. Requires a power inserter to power the DPH42.

Probably. OP should buy from RF Mogul to make sure he's getting the right stuff.

OP said he's not using a Hopper 3.

One of the ports is an Input (which you don't use).

1st, thanks everyone, now, this is were my confusion started, looking at Lnb's I see western & eastern, Mogul claims theres does both? I thought I had heard Jon @ Mogul wrong, but this is from there web site
Our custom LNB Arm supports the Eastern & Western Arc!
So even tho ,it looks like 75% is from western arc, this being a mobile application, I will just the Rf mogul stuff & be done
Thanks again for all your knowledge,
