Repair surge guard 34750

My Surge Guard has failed because water entered the housing. It is an externally mounted model 34750. I mean it mounts on the electrical pedestal. I have opened the unit and removed the circuit board. I have contacted Flight Systems about repairing or at least checking out the board but have not had a reply as of this writing.

Any constructive comments will be appreciated.

Mine died after 4 years. They would not return a call and I kept calling until I got someone. I was told they would not repair the unit because it was too old and they do not carry parts. I had to toss it and since I was traveling I purchased a new unit. I thinks this sucks for a $350 dollar unit and I was not impressed with the response. If I would have had time I would not have purchased their unit again. The new units works fine however.

I called and was told the same thing. Ours is about 4 years old and has be in operation about 1 1/2 years of that time. They were cordial in answering my questions but as you said did not carry parts. I think if I can get a new board, I will be ok. After taking the unit apart, I really don't understand how water entered the housing. I usually place a large garbage bag over the pedestal to keep rain from entering.

Anyway, we have some time before we go out again; so i'll see what happens with Flight Systems and a board.

That's why so many of us recommend a Progressive Industries EMS. They have a lifetime warranty and fantastic technical support. It might cost a little more at the checkout, but it's only a one time purchase!

My Progressive Industries 50a portable device failed with water inside because of extra strenuous effort needed to unplug. PI repaired quickly and sent back NC. That's customer service!
