Replacing camera monitor

Going to open up the dash to get to the side/rear camera monitor to try and find a loose wire. I started wondering how the cameras and monitor work together and this is the reason for the post.

I know that each camera has an input (RCA type I believe) and in my case the rear camera is always on except when the turn signal is turned on. Does anyone know how the wiring works, can a larger monitor be added? Can you use any "monitor" that accepts RCA in? Would love to go to a better quality monitor and slightly bigger. Any help appreciated.

If yours is similar to my Triplevision, it does not use RCA style connectors. The cables come to a junction box that was just tucked up and ty-wrapped under the dash behind an access trim panel beside the accelerator pedal. I had a cable come loose from the passenger side camera and had to reseat the connector.

While I love my coach, Tiffin seems to have some poor wiring practices especially in the fit and finish. Ty-wraps not being flush cut leaving a knife edge, loose wires in cabinets that become vulnerable in slides, excess cable bundled up, etc...

Hopefully yours will be something simple too. Best of luck!!

Yes you can add a larger monitor. Most rvs today are using rca connectors unless you have a Sony system. I have cut off Sony plugs and soldered on rca connectors or you can buy rediculiously expensive Sony to RCA adapters.
