Rf mogul 2100/shaw direct

Is there anyone out there having problems with Rf Mogul 2100 logging on to Shaw satellites? The dish provides great reception once it finds the bird, the issue with mine is it locks on to the wrong satellite more often than not; especially if the coach is facing north. The dish seems to align easier if i'm facing south/south east. I'm in consultation with Royal Lamb one of the owners at RF mogul trying to solve the programming problem, sometimes other experiences and resolutions can help.. HELP

Can't help with an automatic system. But I'll throw this in from my experience getting signal on a regular Shaw dish. I always start with the dish pointed west and swing to the east, otherwise you hit the strong / wrong satellite first and it really messes you up , only 3 degrees off , but wrong, wrong ,wrong

Thanks for the tip. We believe that is exactly what is happening when I deploy the dish when the motorhome is facing north, north east, unfortunately there is no provision for manual manipulation of the dish. They are working on a software update that will hopefully solve the problem. Automation can sometimes be frustrating.

Yep; can't wait for the new coaches , with the " control every thing from your laptop" get a few years old and we start to see how durable those systems are.

Shaw Direct service

"Shaw Direct now has a third satellite operational and it will only be available for viewing in Canada." They will be shutting down their older two satellites which we are now getting the signal when South of the 49th. I have tried to find out how fast this will happen but no one knows. I would be interested in finding out when the signals stop and what suggestions for boondockers to receive Canadian TV.

Just started " Snowbirds Beware " about the Shaw Direct service in the USA, because of a letter to the editor in the July/Aug , RV Times. Stating that Shaw was planning the shut down of one of their current USA accessible satellites, and they could not tell the customer what channels would not be available.
I have e mailed Shaw asking for clarification, and urge all Shaw customers to do the same. I told them that this issue is big enough , that a press release is in order, if they won't put it in writing ; what their plans are ;
then I'll figure they don't care about Snowbirds as customers.

Thanks for the update on Shaw, sounds like they don't want to put anything in writing. I just spent $2700.00 changing my setup from Bell to Shaw and i'm not a happy camper with this possibility, as have many others I'm sure.

Just got info from another member, re. his phone conversation with Shaw, nothing stated about a satellite shut down , only that his receiver must stay programed to the original satellites, no channels from the new one and no support while in the USA.
Not sounding particularly great.

Shaw RF Mogul not connecting

Any one out there experiencing lost of signal from Shaw when using a RF MOGUL self aiming dish. Got an email from RF Mogul last week that Shaw had done something to their bird and it was causing a problem. I tried my system and it worked fine. I was told my system was set uo correctly tried again 2 days later and no signal nothing nada zero signal. Will be contacting Mogul after the weekend but has anyone else experienced same problem and better still got a fix.

I have experienced problems acquiring Shaw satellite signals using Rf Mogul. I have talked to Royal Lamb head of marketing; (801-895-3392) they are working on new software. I find mine works OK if I'm wide open, no trees, if I'm in trees with an opening in the right direction it gets very confused before it's locks on, and not always on the right satellite, if that happens I can sometimes repeak the signal by pressing the search button. I never seem to have a problem if I;m in a wide open space. My old Bell Tracvision was better in all respects.

Shaw changed their footprint the same as Bell Expressvu did.
Will not be able to use Shaw south of the border very much longer.
