My just installed RF Mogul for Dish took less than 4 min to lock on to all the WA Dish sats the first time. It's very fast to acquire since the controller has it's own GPS unit.

That’s cool. Good to know that there’s competition in the marketplace on any equipment.

I had a Dish Trav’ler that failed. I opted to drop it in the trash and replaced it with a RF Mogul. As a bonus I was able to upgrade to the Hopper 3 system. As I installed my dish and purchased it directly from RF Mogul I had some conversations with them. They tell me that to receive the eastern arc you need to change the LNB and install a different firmware which is easy to do. Not verified, but I have recently seen an advertisement for a hybrid WA/EA LNB that conceivably eliminate the need to change the LNB back and forth. I plan to check with RF Mogul on this and also as of a few weeks ago they were working on a new EA firmware.

RF Mogul vs Winegard Traveler

As I reread to add it states they have WA and EA LNB’s, but not combined. Sorry about getting everybody including myself excited

I returned from a 12,000 mile trip to Alaska and the primary reason I upgraded from a dome to the RFM was to receive in Alaska.

We had HD TV for the entire trip going as far north as Fairbanks. Only 3 nights out of 10 weeks did we run into poor reception and if I wasn't too lazy, could have moved the coach and had better reception.

Never owned a Traveler but have nothing but good words for the RFM.

Dealt with Winegard numerous times on two different Travlers. I hate them with a passion. Their cuatomer service is horrible. Required to send the assembly back to them for service? For me thats 300 dollars as a start. At least RF Mogul can be repaired right on your roof.
