Satellite tv

Our new to us coach has an older kvh R6 satellite dish system. I have questions sent to Kvh about compatibility with the newer system, and waiting on their reply. Going through an internet search, it doesnt really look as if chances are good for the kvh system to work so, we’re looking at a replacement.

Right now we’re leaning towards Dish and the pay as you go. The programming seems to pretty well cover what we would like. In reading through the Tailgater literature, we can view two different channels on two TVs with the appropriate receivers, as long as theyre on the same satellite.

How often do folks run into the issue of “splitting the satellite “ so to speak? Is it something thats run into more with a larger programming package?

If you are watching a program and the wife is watching her show on the same satellite and you change the station you will hear some talking. To solve this some have bought 2 carry out antennas and hooked one to each tv.
For us we purchased the RF Mogul system, which is a roof mounted system, as is The Traveler Dish system.

I would not wait on a response from KVH, their customer service is virtually non-existent. Your R6 dome will no longer work with DISH Network's updated 8PSK transmission coding. I agree with hamm2018, the R F Mogul Eagle roof mounted open faced antenna is your best bet for multi-TV viewing. With this system each TV can watch whatever channel is wanted, and in full HD or 4K if available.
