satellite tv

Here is my situation. I have a winegard satellite dish on my rv roof. I have Direct tv. When I am in SE Texas, southern Louisiana, and Mississippi I have difficult time, or no connection, to the satellite. Anywhere else no problem. Could this be interference from the sun or some other atmospheric condition?

Not an atmospheric problem.

Have you turned the satellite OFF then back ON? Worked for me when I it could not find satellites.

there is no reason you shouldn't receive signals unless you are parked under trees or something else is blocking the dish. We had no problems in the Florida Keys. You may have an equipment problem. We had some issues and found out the arm holding the LNB was bent even though it never hit anything. We also found the fasteners holding the arm or the dish would come loose. I would first check all coax connections and then all of the fasteners on the arm and the dish. The only way to check the arm being bent is to swap it out. You will either need to buy one or borrow one from someone that has the same setup. You will need to do this in an area where you can't get reception. Chuck
