Should be EZ,but…connecting cable in park

Hey!
We are stuck in our 2018 Winnie Sunstar 29ve for a couple of days and have never used the cable. So, we plugged the end that comes from the area next to the shore power into the box on the electrical stand. Then we turn on the TV inside, go to settings and do the auto channel search. We’ve tried, cable/satellite box, cable from wall, and antenna. This park has 55 channels, analog and digital and we only get 5. We’ve tried everything! Input choice is TV and HDMI 1. Is there something we are missing? Some button somewhere? Aaaaack!
Need help ASAP!

Thanks!

You should have a selection switch that has cable, dvd, sat. Main tv, bedroom or outside tv. Select cable and main tv, then go to tv menu and scan for channels. It would appear that you are pulling air digital antenna for the 5 channels.

Your antenna booster may be on. It should be turned off when using cable. It may look like this.

Thanks, but we can’t find a button anywhere! Our antenna booster IS off. I’m a techie so this shouldn’t be rocket science.

I'm sure you know this somehow but my first thought/question after I read your reply was,, How do you know the booster is off? Might be different on your rig but the indicator light showing that the booster is on is usually next to the button,, the same button you say you can't find.

Can you get a piece of coax and run it from the park connector straight to the tv? Doing this would narrow things down.

Like Mudfrog suggested............if you cannot find the green antenna button plate run the park cable through a window directly to the tv.

Gotcha! Here’s another snafu and my last. We have a Wally in there that came with it. I assume it’s direct tv which we will never use. Is that interfering?

You should either have a box with a lot of buttons on it for selecting cable / satellite / antenna / etc., to each of your TVs..... OR..... you should have what someone posted a picture of - an antenna/cable selector wall plate.

If you have the box with a lot of buttons on the front then make sure it is OFF and that the cable button is pushed for each TV. Try pressing all of the buttons a lot to clean off the contacts if you haven't used that box in a long time.

If you have the antenna/cable selector wall box then the light on it should be off for cable and on for antenna.

Make sure you have good coax too; it sounds like you haven't used it i a long tie so maybe one of the end connectors is bad.

If the box says Wally on it then it is a Dish receiver, not DirecTV...

Run a cable from outside connection directly to tv - as a maintenance person for a rv park we run into this frequently. Could be bad splitter or connection inside trailer.
