Supposedly, true GUDP's are available through resellers. If one truly has one of these plans (provides for unlimited data via a hotspot/tablet) I think it would be foolish to let it go.
I have one (GUDP) from AT&T that I use in my Peplink CAt-18. Also have multiple 30GB data only plans from Verizon that I can use if I can't get an AT&T signal.

I have heard of people selling or renting them.
Here's Liz who writes for the MIRC. She and her husband bought one for $700.

It's obviously quite valuable to anyone who wants full time unlimited data. That said, it sounds like you have to be very careful about how you go about selling it by using the "assumption of liability" thing which wasn't really intended as a way of selling it to a stranger.
In an odd way I'm almost pleased that I don't have one. I just wouldn't enjoy being in the situation of having this rare golden egg but maybe not really needing it all the time or not wanting to keep paying for it every month but knowing that if I drop it, it's gone forever. The whole situation with these seems a little absurd.

Yes, they still have them. I have one still myself.

Hello, I have Verizon gUDP but no Hotspot. At the time I did not want the free Hotspot option. I get unlimited data with no throttling, can I use a Unlocked Verizon Smartphone to use my phone as a Hotspot? Or does the phone have to be Rooted? Anyone can reply to this question. Thanks.

I have a gUDP plan (actually, two of them). Both phones work as hotspots with no problems. At one time, I had to use a paid program (FoxFi) to get hotspot use, but there was a lawsuit at some point and now the phones' built-in hotspot features work fine. I regularly use mine while traveling, to get a laptop online.

Do the phones have to be unlocked or rooted? Thanks.

We have 2 unlimited Verizon plans at $165.41 for the pair. I don't need a hotspot, I tether my phone to the laptop. I don't see many mentioning that but it's a real money saver. I've never not had pretty decent speed internet from Canada to Florida to Arizona and back to NC.

Gave up my gUDP plan a couple of mts ago and was able to save enough $$$ to cover the costs of Starlink. With Starlink and T-Mobile home 5G, I have not been using the FCMA ATT and Verizon Hot spot plan - just been keeping them a backups.
My next change is to test the Verizon home internet "for $25" on the road then drop Verizon Hot spot plan.

First test of the Verizon home internet on the road - Was able to connect without issue & performance was on par with my Verizon Unlimited hotspot 8800L "$65 plan no longer available" - Both are running on LTE because there is no 5G.
Note - The unit had be to be sent up at my home address

So much seems depend on the luck of your location at the moment.. and the ability of your phone or data device..
Speed, connections and use varies greatly..
I too have a grandfathered veriz deal, that I am about to toss,, It works, phone tethering is OK on most roads I travel, at my rural home in PA, Verizon phone service is horrible even though support say, the area is blanketed LTE and limited 5G,, BS.. I ten mile circle NO 5G and limited LTE calls, occasional test works,, BUT ironically I have a Cat20 5G/LTERouter Modem with verizon from a provider partner and Dang thin sings 90% + of the day for the last 6 months.. It shows 1 bar or less, maybe 2 at night,, it grabs 2-3 towers or channels and make it work,, GO FIGURE..
I took ATT 100gig card cross country from PA to Donner CA, it worked well
I cant say which is best for anyone,, just if you got things working, stick to it.. LOL
