Is it worth it? Can you use it at a campground or would it eat up their band width. Does anyone have one and is it functional?

you typically can't use them at a campsite - WiFi is too slow. I use my own Verizon MiFi and its not too bad for Netflix - Amazon can eat up your data with high def selections.

I don't have smart TVs so I have to use a Roku. If I were replacing TVs I would go with smart.

We find that streaming works best at times when others have gone to bed or are away during the day.

Bottom line. It works well most of the time we try to use it.

my tvs are smart, but i found no use of it. i bought a mi box from amazon, it works like a magic.

ROKU boxes, Firestick, etc. and smart TVs all use a lot of Internet bandwidth. You probably can't afford to use air-card (MiFI) and Park Wi-Fi is basically useless.

Smart TVs are stick&brick places where you have broadband connections.

We have all smart tvs in the S&B, but since we have idiot operators they really don't do much.

You might be hard pressed to find a LED TV that isn't "smart" the additional cost is minimal. We've got Smart and Roku, just incase. Some CGs offer DSL.
As far as CG use, most WiFi has gotten so substandard / uber overworked. I wouldn't anticipate being able to do anything meaningful, let alone stream at any CG.
You'd probably need a very generous data plan, that would fall far short of Satellite.

I bought a smart tv last year. Read the user agreement and you won't buy one. It states they can monitor each key stroke you use from the remote and what you are watching. Communications is also both ways so who know if they ever turn on your camera to watch you in the coach. I never agreed to the user agreement so the smart function doesn't work on mine and I wouldn't use it if it did.

Yeah, there is that aspect also, Once you click "I agree" to the EULA there is no turning it back off. We've not activated any smart TV either. At least the ROKU box is in a cabinet can be unplugged, hard reset, or just plain thrown away.
