Starlink

Hello all, I recently saw a starlink antenna on an RV in GA rv pack. Queried the owner about the device. His response was very positive and explained why, both him and his wif work from home, they've got 4 computers running and can still stream Netflix. OK, got my interest. Did more research via google, talked to a few more users, mobile and fixed user...all positive. So, I ordered one a couple days ago. It's due to arrive Friday...and I'm excited! btw it's a mobile plan with a post mount.I will be up dating this post with my progress. Friday delivery for Musk Starlink....

We just got our in-motion system delivered Monday. 1 week from order. Tested in my backyard. Plug in one wire to antenna and two power plugs in outlet. 2 minutes later I had 110 down 6 up. Not bad. I went with the in-motion antenna to mount on the roof so the DW can do work while I drive. I know trees at camp sites will limit us at times. There is a good facebook group to join called "Starlink for RVers."

I may have to look into this plan. We have the home version and love it. We are just off grid enough that any decent service is not available for good speed.

Looking forward to your feedback old!

From what I've gathered talking to rv starlink folks, some have home units. RV unit allow you to turn them off? idk, just an fyi

That is the difference, you can "pause" the RV plan as often and for whatever time you want (within a full billing cycle), not the residential plan, which doesn't allow pausing.

Update... my dishy has been working good and my second month of usage. wathching TV via internet has been good, no buffering. watching NewsMax i get some buffering in the evening. Netflex has no buffering, ditto on Prime movies. all other things I've tried on my firestick has work fine. My speed testing, results have been from real fast (193 Mbps morning to 1 Mbps as a low in the evening, but check it a second and third time it's 5 Mbps then 23 Mbps) even at the slow Mbps no buffering on channels except NewsMax. So, my experiment is good to date. my personnal goal were to 1. have unlimited internet and alway on for 5 devices...and we have achieved this goal. 2. to be able to cut the cable and traveling and at home...we're close. Have to wait till we get home to finalize our testing. I give Elon's StarLink a 5 star rating.

yeah I just got that email too DB.

I wouldn't even mind it but recently they changed the direction of where my dish faces and now I have "obstruction" issues. Seeped is 200+ but at like 3 am. During actually hours we'd use its below most average speeds. Can't complain though... it's still better than other services considering we live in the mountains.

Heck, you got a decrease if you are in an excess capacity zone. Whatever that means?

We have had Starlink for 8 months or so, just found out that in April it will increase in cost from $135.00 to $150.00 a month for the RV. It has worked well so far, it does slow down in areas were there is lots of residential Starlink use.
