I haven't seen any reports of theft anywhere (but a few cases of vandalization). The system is completely useless outside the original owner's hands anyway as the hardware is easily blacklisted by Starlink.
It'd be about as useful to a thief as an Orby satellite and TV box.

I'm sure that will make a big difference. We're in Orlando and it seems like SpaceX is launching every day. I think the big completion is 5 G deployment. We have unlimited data plans and usually travel to places and keep continuous service. This is obviously not the case when you get away from populated areas.

5G suffers from short propagation range on its signal and requires many times the number of towers that 4g and older did to provide coverage, so unless you're staying in a major metro or on a freeway, you're less likely to be able to access than you would starlink

With all due respect, what you are describing are the attributes of mmwave 5g (millimeter wave) which is pretty much limited to dense urban environments.
However, the "action" in 5G over the next couple of years will be in what some people call "C-band 5G" or "sub 6GHz" 5G. It has substantially longer range than the mmwave 5G and there's a lot of available spectrum to use.
The speeds won't be quite as high as with mmwave 5G but they will be far faster than the "low band 5G" being used throughout the country at present. My Pixel 6 Pro is one of the first phones that Verizon has certified for use in this new band.

it all went away!
and down she went!!!!
Dishy disappeared today and our internet connection dropped. lasted about 10 mins so I rebooted from the control page. Came back up, I do have to admit we are having winds of bout 50mph but that hasn't been a problem yet. Got my frozen Ooma server page unlocked today and as able to activate my Ooma Voip modem. I no latency that I can detect and sound is better than land line. Decided to port over our original number. $40 if only the port or $120 for a year of premium service including the port over. went with the premium service.... `

After several months of SL service, I've learned that there's little point to rebooting. The system comes back up when it is good and ready to. We were also down for around 10 minutes and I didn't do anything other than switch to my backup internet connection.

I just received my square dishy and the motors are intermittent. I just barely got it out of stow. Starlink CS was very responsive and is quickly replacing my dish and giving me a free months service. Nice! This mishap gave me a chance to see how things work if the dish just faces up. Facing the length of dishy east-west resulted in poor performance and intermittent service. Reorienting the length of dish north-south results in 70-150'ish mbps speeds with 100% continuous service. I'm located in the Phoenix area right now. Certainly better than the best Visible service even with dead motors. I'm pretty pleased.

I see that most of southern NM just opened up for new service. That's great if you live or travel through there.

Thanks!!! Sure enough, Socorro, NM address is now accepted in my account. Waiting to hear from support as to whether or not they will reactivate my account down here.

Nice one BonS!
Yes, I too noticed Southern NM opening up, which is great for me.
My dishy is still "pending". Hoping it ships early next week.

Atm, C-Band is a mess and the only carrier not having issues with that, due to the huge interference problems in aviation, satellite communication and what not that have cropped, is T-Mobile, who is using B-Band transmissions in the 2.5GHz range (Closer to what one of the Wifi bands is) for their 5G network.
With the current game of "Not It" on who is going to pay for retrofitting equipment to not be interfered with on Aviation and what not, I don't see C-band moving forward much anytime soon.

Are you changing service addresses every time you move or has it not been connected anywhere since the 1st of March?

FWIW I think it's too soon to declare a winner between the FAA and the airlines vs the FCC vs the telecom companies. https://www.fiercewireless.com/regul...from-5g-c-band
