Collapse dish arm
Have mobile SL account. Wanting to store the dish but can’t figure out how to “store” the dish arm. Don’t want to force it down. Help.

When Starlink is operating you go into the app and select “store”. I don’t believe there is a way to do it if it’s not powered up and operating.

Exactly what I do. Store it, then turn off power to it, those connectors are not very stout. Unplug, role up the cord and use the original shipping box for storage while I travel.
Later...

If you forgot to STOW it in the app before you turned off the power and took it down, there is an easy way to Stow it afterwards. Just put it face down on a table or the ground and plug it back in. Then turn on the power to the router. It will stow in less than 5 minutes. Don't ask how I know .
Also, it is good practice to always power it off at the modem before unplugging the cable at either end. That tiny connector doesn't like hot plugging.

This worked for me. Thanks for the suggestion. By the way, I don’t see the “Stow” option in the app. Probably staring right at it.

If you're using the latest app, it's under settings and the tab at the top that says Starlink, click that and at the bottom is the "stow" slider.

Starlink "Travel Case"
Wondering if anyone has purchased and used the Starlink traveling case?
https://shop.starlink.com/products/u...avel-case-gen2
Seems pretty pricey for a storage box. Not sure if there is enough benefit. Has anyone forked over $250 for this yet?
FYI... my original, beta-first-week, McDishyDishFace is now showing a problem with the motor. They are sending me a next-gen dishy for free replacement with the return of this original one. Kinda sad to see it go, but smaller will be nice.

Have never seen the pricey Starlink box, but have seen these (I store mine this way in a 12 gallon Husky tote .. way less expensive and very functional):

I've found that many people get this tote for Starlink. There are several YouTube videos that show them using it. The only thing is that they use part of the plastic packaging that came with the Starlink and in mine they used egg carton-like cardboard.
Just go to YouTube and search Starlink Storage.
LOL
While I was typing, SeeTheUSA posted one of the videos.

When we're traveling the Dishy rides, seat belted, of course, on the rear passenger seat. When we're not traveling I relocate it to our radio tower. In neither case is a travel case needed. However, were I to fly with it, I'd want something appropriate. Robust travel cases are expensive. Just look at what a Pelican case costs.

Mine came in cardboard as well. I just pug bubble wrap in the bottom, put the dish amd stand on that, then used the top cardboard piece on top of that to put the cables, modem, and ethernet adapter in there. Fit great.

I bought a Home Depot 64L HDX tote (not sure the equivalent in gallons) with the yellow lid.
https://www.homedepot.ca/product/hdx...lid/1001057029
My Starlink also came with the cardboard packaging but it all fits perfectly in the tote and it doesn't budge.

Have owned the Starlink II system for a few months now.
Bandwidth is solid and way more reliable than other feeds.
Using Harbor Freight 20' flagpole on hitch to lift dish up and over any blockers.
Real test will be NH-Alaska-NH 2024 journey.
