Starlink RV is now Starlink Roam
Same plan with the option for static dish ($599) or in-motion ($2,500), plus now you can go international for $200/month.

I was considering Starlink RV/ Roam for my trip to Alaska next summer since cell service is spotty. I assumed I could use it going through Canada but your post made me wonder if I would need the international plan for that part of the trip? Has anyone used their Starlink going to/from Alaska? What was your experience?

Normally Canada is not considered Interntional but with Starlink you never know.

Apparently as long as it’s “on continent” you’re good. The international feature is for continent hopping.

If the usage is for "just in case" in the event of a mechanical or a medical emergency you might want to look at Garmin InReach. It's a satellite communication system where you can call for assistance or send simple messages.
I have one and the Freedom plan I have allows me to activate it on a one month basis. The charge is $35 annually to stay provisioned when I'm not using it.

I already have an InReach. I’m looking for data service for email, Google searches, Facebook, etc. maybe some TV streaming.

I just received my Starlink Roam in the mail yesterday. The mounting base is shipped separately but is supposed to arrive today. We are heading to Alaska on May 19. I will try to post my experience with it here on the forum as we travel to different areas.

Please Do!..I am electronic iggnerrt, and have no idea of what all is needed besides the dishy thingy to connect to the laptop for internet service..Pic's of each component would really be appreciated... Verizon is financially killing me for their MiFi @ 30 gigs + phone @ 15 additional gigs and I'm continually exceeding their limits.

For me, Starlink is the best "broadband" service available for the price currently offered. I'm not aware of any other mobile internet access plan that provides similar speeds and data volume (even if/when it's capped at 1TB).
All you need is what you get when you buy Starlink. It comes with a WiFi router so if that's all you need, you're all set. I had mine setup in less than 10 minutes and it's as simple as A-B-C.
Some of us setup addition routers and such due to the type of connections we prefer (like direct Ethernet), which requires buying addition equipment, both for the Starlink (their Ethernet adaptor) plus any router equipment you prefer in your own setup.
But if you simply connect today to a WiFi hotspot or whatever, what comes with the basic Starlink will do the same.

We bought the RV package last June '22 and have used it from the PNW to the east coast, down the east coast to the Gulf coast, TX coast, west coast and to home. My DW has taught her zoom classes all across the US, attended many meetings via zoom and has never had an issue during the day time hours. While streaming movies in the evening we had problems when parked in an open field north of Atlanta with being dropped due to "obstructions" for maybe 1-2 minutes. In process of selling 5vr and buying a motorhome which will have the Starlink Roam package for mobile use.

Anytime you put all your apples in one barrel you are going to get burnt. I have Starlink and seldom use it. We have a Calyx T-Mobile hotspot that costs me $44 dollars a month(500 a year) works about 90% of the time and doesn't have a 1 TB limit. Three RVs used 1.7 TB in one month and the majority of the time it is faster than Starlink.
The biggest drawback to Starlink is you have a large area of sky visible without trees or obstacles and setup time. At my last campgrounds, we speed over 500 on speedtest.com with Calyx Hotspot.
