A lot of great advice! I received my RV kit. Very easy set up. Just odd that the cable doesn't unplug from the dish. Pulling cable up inside mh everytime to sue for the night while traveling takes time. Anyone have a solution where to store cable / dish for easy setup...or is a second cable required to be permanent in motorhome making it easy to unplug cable/dish to remove for travel? I have a 4381 Ventana

My understanding is that their cable length is very specific regarding length and connections for performance reasons. Check their website to see if they sell extensions for their proprietary cable (it is not a coax cable). If they do not then likely I’m correct. In the old days, hp computer plotters had a 12’ chord and if you added an extension it would not work properly as it required timely two way communication.
What I see is most put the modem and router in a center cargo bay.

The cable is really just POE ethernet, the ends are what's proprietary. Many folks have sliced the cord and put standard ethernet plugs on it to make it easy in mounting external ethernet plug on their RV.
There's nothing special about the length although there is an upper limit for ethernet runs.

Thanks for the specifics that clears up my speculation.

If you have the standard dish it does unplug from the dish. It just slides down with the tip of your finger.

That’s what mine does, too. Remove the dishy from the stand, then remove the cable. Maybe something changed

Only if you had it "portability" active on your account when they made the plan changes, you were allowed to keep that plan option.
