Calyx is using the Sprint (now T-mobile) network for their program, and while I have not specifically used that, it is a viable option if you don't have another way.
I've been using YoutubeTV (have it on right now as it happens) for well over a year now, and exclusively using cellular connections for my primary internet for about the same period. The location sensing on YTTV is annoying, but can be worked around (so that you are always "home" with full functionality) with a little bit of technical trickery. Similar technical trickery can be utilized to make all your data appear as on-device to avoid the silly hotspot-only limitations. I'm not a network administrator any longer, but you don't need to be, to set something like that up. The information is available online.
My setup involves unlimited "phone" account sims, a Netgear hotspot router with customized firmware, internal network filtration with a Pi-hole, and use around 400-600gb/month usually.
Clearly with programs like Calyx, the network has plenty of capability, it is only an additional profit line for the carriers.

Whip - it has been a while since you posted this. What is your impression of YouTube TV now?
I have Hulu (with live) at home. Of course everything works at home. When I travel, I lose the ability to stream live and only have content to on-demand.
Does YouTube TV work in a similar manner?
I just purchased a StarLink RV system. Hooked it up last night on my deck at home. Connected the house to it. Hulu said I was not home (different IP again).
For (other people) responses - only interested in YouTube performance on the road (features or limited as I explained on my Hulu)
Thanks!!

If YouTube tv can’t get your gps location you get your home locals. If it does see your out of home area you can’t get your locals live but get the locals for the area you are in. You can always get your home Chanel’s local programs ( like the local news at home) if you’ve marked them for “recording “ after they have played live. Youtubetv has unlimited “recording”
I tried the free weeks of Hulu and it wouldn’t work for us as it seemed to be tied to your home landline network. Plus you couldn’t set it up initially on a cellular network.
With youtubetv You do need to log on in your home area at least Every 3 months. I was getting warnings last summer but made it back to my base before it did anything. I now have a neighbor turn on my fire stick at home and log in to youtubetv occasionally if I’ll be gone over 3 months. No more issues.

Logging in from a remote area (yet reading as "home") is easy enough with a computer, private browsing window, and a location spoofing browser plugin. You can solve that 3 month thing easily in about 5 minutes with this, don't even have to watch anything.
Although I have gone far more than 3 months between YTTV complaining that I'm not "home" probably b/c of the daily usage from one device (apple TV) that has the location databases blocked at the network level by my pihole. So that one reads as "home" whenever it turns on, which is only for about 10 hours every day. It is actually located about 1500 miles from where it thinks it is located. If the devices can't see the location database, they can't report anything either.

Question on Youtube TV: Is it in some way better than, or different from, the other streaming choices - the Netflixes and Primes and Hulus, etc.? Wondering why I see more people using and praising it than others (but too lazy to try it yet.)

Streaming YouTube TV
There are broad network providers like Hulu fubu Youtubetv that provide cnn Fox News , hgtv , and local abc cbs nbc etc just like cable providers and there are specialty movie/program providers like Netflix Disney hbo prime etc.
YTTV in comparison to cable “like” other replacements Hulu fubu etc I’ve found travels easily . It also has unlimited recording without charging extra , even though recording isn’t exactly what it’s doing , marking for access later might be a better term. Plus the guide can be customized into the order you want. It looks and feels the most “cable tv” . It’s sports catch-up can show all the key plays of the game you missed in just 15-20 minutes
At least that’s why we chose it over the other streamers.
