T-mobile 5G for home

Has anyone tried the "new" Tmobile wireless on the road ? I ran into a guy that said it worked great for him. Yes technically they did not "allow" mobile use but they have relaxed that a bit.

We’ve been on the road with it since last August. Works great!

Had it for over a year and it works great for the areas we travel.

I actually have a 2nd one at my house and then have a 3rd for my business on the commercial plan. All 3 for a billed $150 a month all fees included. My local T-mobile store has been great to work with.

Speeds are very fast and the service has been rock solid.

The current-generation T-mobile trashcan (FAST 5688W) doesn't have external antenna nor does it have a use for them. The internal antennas are superb and pretty well aligned.

That said, I put mine outside in a trash bag for better speeds. Its primary high speed band is N41, with a long range band of N71. It does require NSA LTE bands to function though, typically on B66.

Also no issues using on the road, far, far away from it's registered service address. It doesn't have GPS or anything telling Tmobile where you're at, nor is it locked to a particular tower at this time.

The device does have antenna hookups but you have to crack the case and do a little work. I'll give it a try as is.

This is good to read. I was planning on taking my gateway with me on my upcoming trips to see how it worked.

Started at the Canadian border and all the way to Yuma, I had 5 bars. Speeds were very good and no drop outs. Now in Mexico and it doesn't work here but a regular T Mobile hot spot does

Interesting because I was messing it with here at home and it switched down to 4g but it must be a regional limitation with the hardware you are seeing.

I've had it for 2 months now. Replaced my default Starlink since no set up and faster upload speeds....normally. I am currently at Guadalupe River State Park in Texas that is north of San Antonio and got a respectable 80 Mbps down on T-Mobile trashcan, but upload was 100-200 Kbps (Verizon was the same). Dishy is on the roof here and doing 190 down and 9 up.
Both my wife and I work full time from the road, so access is mandatory.

Right on, we are not full time but more like part time curious. After a Northwest to Az to Ca to home trip I got really annoyed with my connectivity. Also just moved over to Tmobile 5g phones that work in Europe according to them. Time will tell but I will likely grab the trash can when I get back. Hard to argue with the price.
