T-Mobile Essentials $60/mo. unlimited phone/text/50GB data Thoughts?

What are your thoughts about this plan? It also includes Unlimited @ 3G speed.

I only need 1 phone/plan.

I'm thinking I can tether my phone to my laptop when I want to. Not to watch videos but surf the net.

I'm thinking a basic phone plan costs $25, so I'm paying $35 for the data.

Hotspot on the Essentials plan is only '3G' speed. That has no official meaning, rather is pretty much whatever the carrier wants it to be but for T-Mo is 512k, which is pretty slow.

You might as well get Visible for $25 at have unlimited tethering at 5 mbps. This is subject to deprioritization on busy towers but even at worst you'll do better than 512k.

I just checked out that Visible site. I think I'll go with that and join a party to get the $25.

I prefer the postpaid TMobile Magenta plan.
