We are currently using DirecTV satellite service and have been for years. Hurricane Ian took out our satellite dish and I have been pondering switching over to streaming for quite a while, so this became our "opportunity" to make the switch.

I have been considering using DirecTV streaming or Hulu+Live TV as our streaming service. Have any of you folks had any experience with the portability of their streaming services from one location to the other? It seems that I read that Hulu will only work with your "home" wifi. I will be taking my T Mobile wireless wifi device with me, so I don't know if that would eliminate that issue or not. Any advice would be appreciated. I hope I explained the situation adequately. If not, feel free to ask questions, this old guy needs help with this hi tech world. Thanks in advance!

We had Hulu plus live TV. You are correct that it not works on your home location network. You can watch on demand when away from home but even that stops after a while if you have not connected from home. Believe it is every two months, if I remember correctly. They look at where you are connecting so when you move they will know you are in Florida and not Indiana.

We got rid of that and have Hulu streaming on demand, a Roku box, Netflix, HBO Max and a couple others for what we watch all loaded on the Roku.

Total around $50 a month and get everything we want to watch. Live TV we use he park cable or antenna as needed.

I use T-Mobile Home Internet with $20/mo Philo TV and FREE Pluto streaming service. That's all we need and it works perfect for me. Philo has almost every channel we had on cable at home.

My streaming device has a setting that "Turns off Location Services" and I have ran YouTubeTV for 4 months without it complaining that I not at my home location.

Angry be warry of T-Mobile home internet

18 days ago I moved all phones and home internet to T-Mobile, saved $130. It ran great for 12 days, speed over 250mb. It currently drops to 8-12 mbs during the day. I have called support four days in a row. The excuse was always "Congestion", T-Mobile speak for over sold the capacity. Yesterday the finally admitted the tower could not handle the load and is not expected to be upgraded any time soon. The only option presented was "deal with it" or change carrier, not an option as Verizon does limit the capacity and currently no longer available at my address. I plan to use it in my RV but limited faith it will work. My weboost (which has quit working) does not work on T-mobile n71 (5g band) Please don't stay at the Swannee Music Park (nearest tower) if you have T-Mobile home internet, it will just make my service worse.
