At least the HR34 is headed to the bone yard. Rumors are as early as next week. This is great for the RV world as NO more wires. The HR34 is being replaced by the HR44 which will wirelessly distribute programming to C41 clients. Now just one wire from the dish to the HR44 and you are done.
The HR34 is not really dead and will be in service for awhile. Rumors are they will no longer be installed in the near future. Unclear if the C41's are available right now either.
The HR44 will be backwards compatible to newer DirecTV equipment. I resisted the HR34 as a read too many bug reports. Hopefully, the HR44 will be solid. I'll sit back and wait awhile.
