If the documentation does not state explicitly, I would think only the protection provided by NAT. If their was a stateful inspection firewall feature surely they would list it.

NAT is basic. All it provides is minimal security by obscurity. It would be interesting to do a basic port scan on these routers/repeaters/extenders to see just what they let through by default. Equally important is what they let out by default. Oh, well.
