Hello I have class A with an old tracvision l2 with directv
service it's hit an miss reception with 771 code . I had a directv tech tell me . that I need the swn set up he also said that i needed a newer dish with the swm capability. my question is could i switch out the original LNB with a directv sl3-swm slimline LNB .

For Directv you have to have a full size dish to get all the channels plus HD. Any smaller dish means no HD plus there's hardly any channels anymore when using a small dish. That means either a Winegard or similar automatic dish on the roof or a Directv Slimline dish mounted on a portable stand. I have both.
Here's the Winegard roof mount dish, I have this one. Works great.
