Travlfi from Dish
Has anyone bought and used the Dish Travlfi? It supposedly has multi sim technology and can use the best cell service available regardless of the 3 carriers. Cost of the unit is $229 and data packages can be purchased from 2GB up to 800 GB. Seems like it is the answer to weak signals ATT and better service on Verizon or T Mobile.

I looked it up. This is not a Dish Network product. It is from Pace.
Interesting concept with the virtual Sim cards.
The price of the hardware is a bit high, it is 3g/4g only, and it only allows 5 concurrent devices.
The plans are also pretty pricey.

This sounds like a great device if it works as advertised but there is few negatives also. These are my main concerns.
According to the FCC filing, the Journey1 only supports LTE Bands 2, 4, 5, 7, 12/17, 38 and 41. So while this device can use multiple carriers, it is lacking key bands for some major US carriers.
We have recently seen more and more options like this, with a virtual-SIM device that, in theory, automatically switches between carriers based on the strongest available signal.
These virtual SIM plans might be a good option for travelers who want multiple-carrier coverage, as long as you are okay with using hotspot/router devices that tend to be rather basic in nature.

Do the bands equal the carrier's? If so can you post them? Can you also post the ones that it does not support?

If history repeats itself, this is yet another attempt by Dish to offer another option for a
service that is inferior, out of date and difficult to use. Their customer service is the WORST! Hoping another provider will offer better tv, satellite/internet and cell options. I will be first in line to ditch Dish!

Anyone here tried the "TravlFi" yet? Looks interesting and the data packages are not too expensive. I don't see an external antenna connection on it. Looking towards a Mofi 4500 with 4glte for my RV internet needs.

I am returning the Travlfi to Pace. Got it on 12/7 and by 12/17 they say I used 25 gigabytes. I have a Mobley which i was using along with the travlfi to compare. I don't like the plan an it didn't always perform better than the Mobley on ATT. I had only used about 9 gb on the Mobley.
