The first thing I would do is erase the password and re-enter it just to make sure that it isn't corrupted. Sometimes it can appear to be correct but still can be corrupted.

If that still doesn't fix the problem then it could be due to the park's password having a space as the character after the PW. This is more common than you might think. We have a fix for this problem that will be included in the next firmware update.

I typed the password again with no change. That would be funny if they had a space in it. I have done that. I have to use these wifi's without the Aspen and the password works fine as it is. Kristian at wifiranger has asked me for my RFR id and is checking it from his end so he may have news soon.

I just made some suggested changes and now I can combine the hotspot and the tethered cellular. That is half the battle there. Waiting to hear if the CG is preventing modems. Thanks.

I found a way to make the campground wifi's work! I changed to the Aspen5g setting in the wifi section under the main tab. To my surprise the he campground wifi's work there. They show but do not work in the regular Aspen mode. So now I have a CG wifi on Aspen 5g, my Verizon hot spot on the Aspen wifi section and the Tmobil Tethered on the Cellular section all combined and working.

Since there are 3 CG wifi's and they all fluctuate from useless to great and back I will try to see if I can see the Aspen to choose the best. I have noticed that while one is weak the other may be great so I'll see what I can figure out. If that doesn't work I am still happy with the way things are now.

Glad things worked out for you. But don't think of the 2GHz mode as being the "regular Aspen mode." They are really both quite equivalent. More and more public WiFi is being setup with 5GHz SSIDs so you may encounter them frequently.

Your T-mobile connection will be affected by 1) how new your phone is and 2) What speed you pay for. I know they want an extra $15 per month to get LTE tethering otherwise it's 3G. A newer phone usually gives you additional frequencies every time the next model comes out. One reason I won't get a Samsung S20 is that it covers 5G only, no LTE. You can do some research online regarding your phone and see what frequencies you can get on your phone. With our Samsung S8+ we don't get 600Mhz (Band 71) or 5G. Band 71 is an extended range LTE. Hope this helps.

It is a card with unlimited data installed in the WIFIRANGER Aspen. It should work very well but TMobil is weak here and tends not to cary the data for internet when the signal is weak. I need to return to ATT.

Same here; spent a couple of months with T-Mobile which is awful at my home location. Going back to AT&T as my backup to Verizon.

Frustrating thing is that it will read 5 bars but in reality will usually not have enough signal to provide internet. This has happened in many areas. I went back to OTR's website to see if I could get in on the Blue Blast plan and get ATT back but there was nothing offered except Pink Blast which was expensive, not unlimited and did not say what the company was. I have to spend the time and get them on the chat to find out.

One thing to always keep in mind is that there is no direct correlation between signal strength and available download speed. You can have a perfectly adequate signal with slow downloads. Digital systems aren't like the analog ones many of us grew up with; a stronger signal doesn't always mean a better connection.

Card vs Tethering

My error. I thought you mentioned tethering via a phone. I live in Michigan and T-mobile uses AT&T as a backup. When I can't get a signal in the UP because there is no T-mobile there. With a card I'm not sure that you would convert to AT&T. If you were tethering, what I wrote about phones and frequencies would have been spot on. If you have a friend with an updated phone you could do a tether check and see if you get better data. Maybe it will help someone else if they try tethering. An updated phone with tethering would make a difference. I'm guessing newer cards might offer more frequencies too? How old is your card? Could be something to check into? I'm leaning towards the RV65 weBoost in the future. Good luck!

Our TMobil comes via a card installed in a Wifiranger Aspen. I think the card just gives TMobil on the occasions when there is a strong enough signal where I am. There was one time when we got a strong signal. We bought the card around a month and a half ago.

The SIM in your Ranger provides T-Mobile through Millenicom. https://www.millenicom.com/

I'm not sure what you mean when you say "I think the card just gives TMobil on the occasions when there is a strong enough signal where I am". That's a statement that is true of any SIM for any cellular network. The Millenicom SIM is no better nor no worse than any other T-Mobile SIM.

Just saw online today that very few devices support band 71 for T-moblie. It also stated that you can only get band 71 from only three hotspots directly from T-mobile and no other sources at this time. Only the highest level T-mobile hotspot had MIMO capabilities and band 71. Mid level devices have MIMO and no Band 71. Low level devices have band 71 but no MIMO. They are hoping more devices will have both by the end of the year or so, possibly with 5G. To get T-mobile 5G it's called n71. Band 71 is LTE. Hope this helps.

With all due respect, that is simply incorrect. The Qucctel Cat-4 modem used in WiFiRanger Aspen and Poplar routers has Band 71 support (the Cat-6 modem doesn't). These same modems are used by many others.
