Trouble with Verizon's new format on Smart phone
Sometime in the last week or two Verizon seems to have done some changing in the Format on my Samsung Galaxy8 smart phone, and boy have I been lost since.
The emojis are harder to locate, and previous used ones don't show anymore, the Sent button appears in different places if it can even be found, and the space to type the message is so narrow only one line at a time shows.
Today we sent 6 Merry Christmas wreaths to a receiver and didn't even know we had clicked on it.
I know changes happen but it would be nice if the changes were actually an improvement for once in a while.

Note that if you don't like the Messenger or Phone "App" that is part of the basic Samsung phone software package, you can easily get replacements in the Google app Store. Just find, install and set the new app as the default for it's purpose (ie: Phone App) and then replace the Home page app icon with your new one.
That way you can change the user experience to hopefully one that you like.
But another way is it might be difficult now because change is hard. But once you get used to the new App, then it's easy again.

Your cellular carrier has absolutely nothing to do with the user interface on your phone. They only provide access to the internet. So, Verizon has absolutely nothing to do with the changes you are complaining about.
The way your phone operates when you compose and send texts and emails is 100% a function of your Android operating system and how it is implemented by Samsung. Your whole premise that “Verizon seems to have done some changing in the Format on my Samsung Galaxy8 smart phone” is mistaken. You are dealing with an Android operating system update from Google not Verizon.

A lot of us with Verizon use Message+ from Verizon. I have a LG V30 and use Message+ for 3 years. I'm pretty sure it came as the default app. I haven't seen any significant changes in a long time nor any difficulty using that app.
I do remember when somehow the qwerty keyboard got split in two for people who type with two thumbs and it took me a while to figure out how to get my old format back.
Go into a Verizon store and have one of the techs show you what's going on.
You can always try another messaging app.

Your last sentence may be my only choice. Have never been able to get into the Smart Phone for things like adding or changing Apps. Absolutely no idea how to find the Messenger or Phone App, and what a new App would look like even if I did get to it. Completely technologically inappet.

Rather than accepting this as a fait accompli, why not learn a bit about your phone?
You have a Android phone so all aps are easily added through the Google Play ap. Search for an app title, load it and open it.
Your phone can be an amazing tool; why not get the most out of it? I'm sure people here would be happy to offer tips.

What is the difference between Message+ and Messages when picked as "your default messaging app". Found" Change messaging app, Yes or No". But afraid to click on either Yes or No. Wouldn't know where to go next.
