OK...call me stupid for not figuring this out myself.

I hated using the special tool to remove the standard sensors with the anti-theft cover. I converted to flow-through sensors to get around that. I have some issues with those flow-through sensors and was about to scrap the whole system in favor of Tire Minder. I really didn't want to do that because I have had such good performance with TST. I am not worried about my sensors being stolen because if someone wants them, they will either get them or damage valve stems trying.

So...it is really pretty simple. Maybe I would have figured it out had my original sensors that I swapped out for flow-throughs had gotten to the point of a battery change.

Step 1. Remove the 3 screws holding the spinning cap over the actual sensor and separate the parts of the security cover.

OPPPSSS...there isn't a Step 2.

Its that easy to convert the button sensors to a spin on and off set up without a tool.

Changing the battery is just as simple. You can use the stupid tool to hold the base while you spin off the cap or perhaps a pair of pliers.

They may have but since I never needed to change the batteries I don't recall seeing those. I had swapped the buttons for flow throughs a week after I got them. Hence.

BUT...see page 9 of instructions.

I was being a bit goofy but let me make this clear...

It is my personal choice to dislike the anti-theft cover. Hence my calling the tool stupid. I hope I didn't offend anyone with that.

20 minutes after I started this post...

Now...as I was typing this out TST sent me a PM asking me to call them. I'm thinking...UH OH...I hope I didn't say something wrong.

I talked with Mike Benson of TST who was following a few posting and we chatted about a couple issues. The bottom line is that I have had some issues with the flow through sensor's durability. He told me of changes that have been made to newer sensors and I think they are positive changes. However, I still prefer my solution of removing the anti-theft cover. He then asked me how many of my flow throughs were cracked and he would replace them. I'm now getting 4 more buttons as spares.

YA GOTTA LOVE A COMPANY THAT DOES THAT!
