Using outdoor dish on the road but still be able to use at home

We have just started really using our towable camper and are paying an extra service fee to use Dish outdoor while we camp. We have a disabled daughter that lives at home with a provider when we are gone. We were told if we want to have use of both the home (Hopper) and outdoor (Wallie) as the same time, we have to make to seperate accounts. This will be double the cost. Is there anyway to get around this?

i believe that two receivers active (active = activated) at the same time requires two accounts. look at it this way. if all of them could be on the same account for one price then families with kids here, grandparents there, etc. would be doing that. maybe i'm wrong but i think you're on the hook. maybe make a second call to DISH and re-ask. you'll likely get a different CSR but the same answer.

You can have a separate receiver in the RV, for a small fee I think $7, it you have the correct dish on the roof of the RV, but you can only have locals for one location.

We have a hopper and Joey at home and two wallys on our account and have no issues with all of them working regardless where we are. As was stated previously we donít get locals outside our home area since they are tied to our home address.

Thank you for all the wonderful advice. It was spot on! We did call and talked to a different rep and were able to get the low fee. The advice about not getting local channels was spot on. We don't need local channels when we travel.

Thank you for all the wonderful advice. We purchased a Wally from Dish.

Thank you for your repsponse. That makes a lot of sense, but we were told that by buying the Wally directly from Dish and paying the small fee we would be able to use both at the same time.
What we found out, after calling back and talking to a different representative, is that we just can't get local channels on both. Which is fine by us. We don't need local channels when we travel.

Thank you

Thank you for all the responses. We were able to resolve this issue. We knew what to say when we called back and spoke to a different rep. We just can't get local channels for both. Problem solved.
