Verizon Unlimited Data Users’ Plans Not Going Away, But Options Likely To Narrow

Verizon hasn’t offered unlimited data plans for a while now, but it has lots and lots of customers still on them.

So, naturally, there was much kerfuffle on Wednesday after reports that Verizon was planning to ax plans, even for those grandfathered in.

More here.

Looks like it's only if users want to upgrade to a new 4G phone or otherwise change plans. ATT did the same thing with us Alltel users who had unlimited plans when they bought/took over in our area. We can't make any changes at all or we lose the unlimited plan. I'm sticking with my old Blackberry Curve and a Tether program for on the road internet.

Eventually all unlimited customers will be "upgraded".

I guess being the biggest, doesn't always mean being the best.
