Watch out - Pausing Starlink RV Service

Found this out the hard way. I planned on pausing my Starlink RV service as I won’t be RV-ing for a few months but I waited until near the end of my billing cycle because I live near the Hurricane disaster area and didn’t know if my home Internet service would be interrupted. My billing date is Oct 8th. I got notice of my upcoming billing on Oct 1st. I entered the APP and paused my service on Oct 4th. I still got billed on Oct 8th for another month so sent a IM to Starlink HQ and got this response….

Service can be requested to pause or unpause at any time on the account page”

“If pause service has been requested when the billing statement had already generated in the account, the customer is responsible for that subscription payment…..”

So the key is keep track of when you get the automated 7 day prior email billing notice and pause service before that email goes out!

I think it’s a poor practice. If you are forced to use the APP for everything then why doesn’t the pause service work completely by APP control.

Watch out - Pausing Starlink RV Service

You can pause it anytime and it stays active until the end of the period, I’d rather do it right away before I forget in the next 5 minutes or so

And its easy enough to re activate if needed
