Well, bought Starlink ----
We went ahead and purchased Starlink on Friday and was kind of forced into it because our satellite dish gave up again. We have a RF Mogul system, and it all of sudden lost the ability to lock on the satellites. After most of the day on Thursday troubleshooting with RF Mogul, by texting, it was determined to be the Eagle2 controller went bad.
To send it in and get repaired would have been:
control board $180
labor 2 hours ($90/hr.)
shipping both directions almost $60
total over $400.
Problem is this is the 3rd controller I would have had on the RF Mogul since buying it in 2021. It is 4 years old.
So, we are also stopping our DISH service after 20+ years.
So, we decided to go with Starlink. We found a standard model at Key West Marine & Hardwire for $349. Set up and running in about 2 hours.
Wife is searching for different services, she likes FUBU (?), any thoughts on which is good?

If you have Amazon prime there streaming service is included, we also have a firestick on a slightly older not so smart TV. another is Tubi, Peacock gets you many NASCAR races.

If you're into FOX news, then Sling TV is great. Gives me my local channels too. Paramount + is a great deal if you're into old SiFi and is cheap. We have Amazon Prime because we use Amazon a lot and are prime members. Peacock has a good introductory price but gets expensive after the first year.

We have found Youtubetv to be the most friendly to traveling rv use. It’s the most cable/ satellite interface in my opinion. About 80 bucks. It has most of the dish tv channels we had . Has unlimited “recording” , you actually mark a tv show to be archived and replayed on demand nothing is “recorded” youtubetv is the largest streaming “cable like” service by far.
Live Hulu and others don’t like you traveling as in hulus case for local tv you must have a land based home service. You tube allows you to move around and in fact will give you locals where you are. You can still “record” programs from your “home” area news etc for watching later. Fubu was more sports oriented we found
Yuotubetv forms our base service and replaced our dish tv service. we add others based on what we want to watch max Netflix paramount + etc
Pro tip I learned .. I have a vpn I can log into on my firestick that makes it think I’m in my “home” market ( Tampa ) and I get local Tampa live. Plus it resets my home network location.
Dish is a past memory, you’ll be happy leaving it.
Keep in mind more open sky is better. Unlike dish where you point at a non moving satellite. Starlink satellites are moving across the sky and you “track “ them switching between them as they come in and out of view.

I would recommend getting a Roku box first. It might cover your viewing bases pretty well. It offers up a lot of free channels via its live TV service and the free streaming apps available that can be added to it. Subscription apps like Prime, Netflix, Sling, etc,, are easy to add as well. Youtube is good for when you want to learn something about your RV or are bored but you have to be careful not to get hooked watching the tons of junk it has to offer.

FUBO is great for sports and will get most of everything else too.

What kinds of download speeds do they offer? We have an Xfinity DVR at home and can access it from anywhere there is a decent high-speed signal. I was thinking about using that instead of another satellite TV service.

Congrats on Starlink; we believe you will enjoy it. We are most timers (out about 9 months a year). We still have a sticks-and-bricks house (mother now lives there) with Direct TV. With Roku, we have been able to get our home Direct TV service with the Direct TV Roku app. We also use Paramount+. If we didn't have Direct TV, we'd probably go with one of the above-mentioned services, such as YouTube.

Second the Roku option. I use two Roku streaming sticks in my motorhome. One for the main TV and one for the bedroom. The interface is the same on both. Both have access to all of the same streaming options and they're not dependent on the type of TV they're connected to. Makes for seamless watching.
Also thinking of picking up a Starlink dish. Currently using a hotspot as my internet connection but high-speed data can get pricey. My plan is to use a Peplink B One 5G as my router and a paused Starlink mini as my backup internet connection.

Appreciate all the comments. Wife has us setup with Hulu, Netflix, Prime, Fubu, Tubi, maybe a couple of others that came on our FireTV set.
I think Sling, Peacock, and we have a Roku stick from our prior TV.

Wow, that's a lot of streaming services. Most likely some of them will overlap the channels you like to watch.

Your life is going to be absolute bliss. It was tricky in the beginning but there are so many satellites up there any more, it's fantastic. We use a tmob hotspot as backup

We have a roof mounted Starlink too. We love it. We have all smart TVs and use Youtube TV for CNN and MSNBC and Netflix for the bulk entertainment.

Thinking we are going to get the setup pole from Starlink to install the panel. I would mount on the roof, but we sometimes park under trees, and it may cause issues.
Also, considering installing an access point for getting the cable thru the wall. Seen a couple of options others have discussed on here. What would be an option to do this?
