What do I need

We have an ‘09 American Coach, when we bought it, there were no receivers in the coach. We have a KVH Tracvision on the roof, and 3 TVs in the coach and one outside. We need to be able to watch different channels on different TVs and record multiple channels. She doesnt watch the Mototrend channel, and I cant handle the Kardashians. 😳

What do we need to do that? Its my understanding that our satellite dish will receive either dish or direct tv, we have no satellite account set up yet.

We have two inside and one outside TV in our FR3. We first purchased an Amazon Fire Stick for about $40 for the main TV. We get Netflix, Amazon and Xfinity using campground WiFi or through our ATT account. Through Xfinity we can access our DVR recordings. We like it so much we purchased two more for the other TVs. At the time Amazon had a buy one get the next for 50% off. Winner, winner, chicken dinner .

If they are smart TV’s, or can be made smart using a Roku or Firestick or AppleTV, and you have a data plan on your phones or you want to get a data hotspot - you can achieve your objective.

For awhile I used my phone’s data plan. Now I have a data hotspot (but can still use my phones data if I want).

I also have my hotspot plugged into a router with my own internal network inside the coach for any/all data devices.

You can also do similar by making your tv’s smart then using the campsites WiFi - caveats being many parks don’t like you to stream, WiFi reception quality can be iffy along with signals don’t like to penetrate the walls of the coach.

If you want to use the KVH Tracvision you need a service -- either Directv or Dish. With that service you need receivers to connect to the dome and the TV's. Dish offers a pay as you go plan that you can suspend when not using the coach which makes sense unless you are full time or have either service in your home. For Dish these receivers are called Wally's and I believe they can be purchased various places or thru Dish. Get your service, connect them as instructed, have them activate the receivers, and you should be in business assuming the dome is functional.

Your KVH Tracvision probably will not work with DISH Network. DISH changed their transmission coding to 8PSK in March 2016 and KVH never provided an update to make their older antennas able to receive the new DISH signals. Refer to KVH Technical Bulletin dated March 21, 2016 #16_T_LND_2.
