Whether or not this will accomplish anything will depend on a combination of factors. Is the modem in your Ranger (Cat 6 or Cat 4) more advanced or less than the modem in the Netgear? Also, is the tower you are connected to capable of utilizing any advanced features the modem may offer.

Internet speed
I have Hughesnet for an IP. For 20 hours a day it is painfully S....L....O....W. I have tried to download Youtube files and started at 4:00 AM and they don't finish until the afternoon. These are 20 minute videos. From 2 AM until 6 AM the speeds are good, otherwise, next to useless. They are the only show on the mountain so I take what I can get.

Car connect plan Mobley to GL 750s router.
Down 20 to 33mbs avg around 28 down up is usually 3 MB faster than down.
I am about 3 miles from the tower.

Between 40-80 Mb/s down and 2-4 Mb/s up on Verizon with an unlocked Android phone (hotspot). During the week it is closer to 70 Mb/s down. The area is Southern Utah mountains at 8,000'. Amazing speed for the location.

That HughesNet option sounds awesome. So many times I've had to keep looking for a camp spot because of no signal or too slow < 5Mb/s down.
I'm curious, do you have a HughesNet subscription that throttles the download speed or are those numbers wide-open/full speed?

First, unless you have a very urgent need, I suggest you wait to see what Starlink comes up with. HughesNet Gen 5 requires a 2-year contract with data charges ranging from $40 (2 GB/mon) to $590 (300 GB/mon). Plus, you'll need to buy a portable satellite setup for about $1500. If you really want to spend some money, rooftop automatic Gen 5 systems are available.
Now to answer your question . . .
HughesNet Gen 5 is not 'your father's' HughesNet. There is no throttling -- you pay for the data you use. Also, you can buy "extra" data if you run short or change your monthly data usage.
Gen 5 download speed varies, but I averaged about 10 - 11 Mbps.
