Android phones can be tethered without any problems and iPhones were tetherable until the issuance of iOS14. The problem is the result of actions by Apple, not anything WiFiRanger (or other router manufacturers) had control over.
WiFiRanger will issue a fix for this iOS14 problem in its next firmware update.

Working Great now
I chose the Verizon jetpack Mifi 8800L and teathered it via USB.
So far so good. It works great.

Any idea if tethering to iOS 14 is still an issue?

The tethering issue created by iOS14 has been resolved in firmware versions 7.1.0b9 and higher.

At present the modem sold for the Teton rooftop router is approved for use on Verizon but that is the only WiFiRanger that is.
For those who wish to connect using Verizon we suggest you tether your hotspot or phone to an indoor WiFiRanger router either as part of a rooftop/indoor pair or in stand-alone mode. There is no significant performance difference between doing this compared to using an integrated modem.

Any update on an anticipated date for the Osprey to be approved for Verizon's network?

If you want to use Verizon with an Osprey, I suggest you would be better off using a Verizon hotspot tethered using the Osprey's USB port. I have no information on if and when Osprey's modem will be approved for use on Verizon.
