Winegard Sensar Batwing Antenna-loose pointer ceiling plate
Have a 2004 Winegard "crankup"batwing antenna which has a loose ceiling plate(the plate you pull down to rotate the antenna). The pull down pointer plate has about 3/8" loose play and no tension, which normally holds it up against the upper ceiling plate. Anyone know what hold this plate up against the other plate? Obviously, something has broken and I am not sure which parts are required. The owners manual shows that a spring and nylon bearing are above the elevating crank. Any ideas? Thanks

Do you see a spring between the crank handle and the plate you mention? If not, you need to get one. If so, the spring has become overly compressed. You can remove the handle, stretch the spring out a bit and re-install it to increase the tension.

Thanks Bill -The spring was there so I stretched it to add tension and reinstalled-seems to work OK-probably should pick up a new spring one of these days! Many thanks for your help

also possible that the crank handle has slipped down the shaft. make sure the handle is up all the way before you tighten the setscrew.

Thanks W4MBG- I made sure the handle was all the way up on the shaft when I reinstalled the spring and set screw.
