10 Gal Atwood water heater

Hello All, I have a Atwood 10 gal heater that's now a headache. Turn it on and in a second or two the "pilot out" light comes on. Tried propane and electric with same results. I replaced the ECO/STAT and tried again, still didn't work. Tried bypassing the inline fuse link, still didn't work. Looked at the circuit board and saw a 2 amp mini fuse. Pulled it out and found it was blown. Replaced fuse and wha-la, heater fired up!! Woke up this morning and the "pilot out" light was on again. I suspect the fuse again but haven't yet verified. What could cause the fuse to blow?

Bad ignitor control. There’s not much to these units that can’t be obviously seen as a short circuit - and with the ignitor control being potted, hard to say what failed internally so as to cause a high current to be drawn to blow the fuse.

If all the wiring looks good and no chafing to ground anywhere - get a new ignitor control. From Dinosaur Electronics.
