Hi there, we just upgraded from a 2001 Peak Security to a 2008 Rockwood 2701SS. We had the new unit in at the dealer to fix a slide problem. At the same time, they let us know that the converter was gone and they installed a new one. We took the new unit out last weekend boondocking and had no issues. We plugged it in when we got home as we are taking it out again this weekend.

Yesterday I noticed the battery was not charging ( according to the display monitor )and was almost drained . We put a battery charger on it last night. When I am plugged into shore power, shouldn't the monitor show that the battery is charging? ( it did on our old unit )

I assume that the 12v lights run off the battery when we are plugged in to shore power and the converter keeps the charge up on the battery.

If the battery is not charging, could the converter be gone again?

Thx in advance

Yes, the converter could be gone. Or the batteries (have you checked the water level?). Or a wire connection. Or the power into the converter.

Trouble shoot to narrow down the problem. Like for instance, put a meter on the input of the converter to ensure 120v in. Compare the voltage out from the converter and the voltage across the batteries; they should be the same, and between 12v and 13.4v depending on the type of charging it is doing.
