12v deep cycle vs two 6 volt batteries

I bought a pair of huge 12v deep cycle batteries, not realizing that my old ones were 6v golf batteries. Have not tried to install anything yet.
Should I stick with a 12v deep cycle, or go back and get a pair of 6v golf cart batts?

They maybe have 80-90 ah capacity. 2 paralleled gives yo 160-180 ah. Golf cart batteries in series would get you over 200 ah. Cheaper too and possibly lighter and less foot print.

So, are you saying I would be better off with a pair of 6v, than this?

If they were connected in series they would produce 24 volts. Looks to be group31 batteries. If you have a sams or Costco 6 volts are around 100 bucks. Those ones you got were probably 130.

My group 29 marine 12 volt batteries are rated at 123 amp-h per battery.

I have done it both ways the G-31 or the 2 GC. I think I like the G-31 more. They are designed for a lot less big power surges. Maybe starting your boat motors. The GC are designed for lots of large power surges moving a golf cart for 3 hours.

Last time I did 4 GC batteries. But wished I did the marine G-31.

I am just desperately trying to get out of town and want to get something that works so. Looks like I'll just return one of the deep cycles and run on a single one. I don't have Costco or any of that stuff I'm just trying to get out of town and make this thing work.

I think this point should be cleared up before the OP installs his new batteries.
