2006 class a carbon monoxide detectors
The carbon monoxide detector in our 2006 Bounder kept going off for no reason so I am going to replace it. The question is it was hard wired and if I replace it with a battery powered one will it cause any problems? I had to cut the wires as there was no plug to disconnect it.

A battery powered unit works just as well as the OEM hard wired unit. Just remember to replace the battery on your birthday every year.

Ours quit years ago. Cut the wires, taped the ends, shoved them back in the hole & put a battery operated one over the hole.

t may or may not be hard wired. a 2006 it should already have been replaced, TWICE. Some are battery operated (mine is) some are hard wired. IF so it's just 2 wires you can tape 'em off an put in a battery op if you have to.
Atwood is Kidde relabeled by the way. Exact replacement
I just spent 15 bucks on a replacement from Alde it's a different shape but also a Kidde, battery operated.

As others have said, it's fine to use battery-powered carbon monoxide detectors.
