20A breaker trips...Smart meter to blame?

I'm staying at a wonderful resort in SW Florida. Everything is better than I could ask for...except the park can't seem to stop the 20A (gfci) breaker from tripping. They seem to think it's being caused by a rogue rf signal being sent from the meter back to the power company. Needless to say, I was just curious if anyone has stumbled across this in their travels.

Many people in this park have the same problem. To its credit, the park is hard at work on this. They've replaced many breakers, tried to install shields and filters to no avail.

I'll continue to use the 120v circuit on the outside of my coach when I cook outside. No big deal.

30A and 50A circuits work fine.

I'd love to be the hero to these folks. Let me know your thoughts.

Smart meter is usually a cell phone or line transmitter so not likely the issue.

20 amp breaker?

Are you only a 20 amp unit or using adaptor?

The gfi MUST HAVE 3 SEPERATE WIRES TO THE ACTUAL LOAD.

This means the white (neutral) and safety ground (green or bare) should never touch past the ac main load center and certainly not past the gfi.

Unplug from shore and check with an ohmmeter continuity between ground and neutral as many folks and some manufacturers may have the ground connected to neutral.

Also search gfi tripping for more reading.

Fridge also can cause issue as well.

You need something like this:

https://jet.com/product/detail/1436d...YlhhoCFD3w_wcB

Home depot and Lowes have them too.

Stray RF, etc will not cause a 20 amp breaker to kick.

When you cook outside..........

So I take it you are plugging something into the 20A GFCI outlet on power pedestal.
What is that 'something'......does it have heating element?

Electric heat elements don't play well with GFCI

Update.

Several of us (in this particular park) are having the tripping issue.

The breaker (20A) will trip when using an electric drill, deep fryer, or cable modem. These are the 3 devices I've tried these items because they were handy. They operate fine off my WBGO 120v exterior outlet.
They operate for about 3 minutes before tripping breaker.
50A works fine (coach been plugged in to it for a month- no problems).

I can get one of those testers from HD.
Any tips that I can try. With my multimeter?

Update. Gfci tester indicates all is wired correctly.
I Googled "gfci tripping smart meter" and found several articles about power companies that replaced meters with old style (mechanical meters) to resolve issue.

I'll leave this in the hands of the powers to be at the park. Hope they relive it for everyone who is having this happen.
