I had a tank welded after a seam split from the tank freezing .
It's an inexpensive fix and as good as replacing the HW heater.

Suburban Tanks are NOT repairable.......they are steel BUT glass-lined
Glass lining is sprayed in after welding is done
Any welding done later will destroy the glass lining and just cause more corrosion/rusting
**Atwood Aluminum tanks can be welded/repaired
Suburban doesn't even offer replacement tanks
That picture is showing the bottom of tank (wh is upside down)
Did leak occur at cold or hot inlet?
