50 Amp Cable stuck?
It may be that I just need to pull harder but I thought I would ask. I've got a 50 Amp cable plugged into an American Coach and I have not been able to remove the cord from the rv socket. I've tried rotating it, pulled pretty hard. It looks like there might have been a locking ring of some sort but, I don't think it's there now. No telling how long it has been plugged in .. not sure if it's stuck or maybe I'm skipping a step.
Any ideas?

Someone with an American Coach can verify if you have a locking outlet, but if you do, you must turn the plug to the left to unlock from the outlet. If you can post a photo of the plug inserted into the outlet, that could help.
Below is a picture of a marine type 50 amp plug and outlet, showing the locking slots that must be disengaged.

This is what I've got. I noticed the threads but I don't see a retainer. I've pulled and twisted pretty hard... just doesn't seem quite right.

This is a twist lock connector, twist to the left and pull. If it doesn't come out, it could be welded and you need to be replaced both plug and receptacle

Now, to not intentionally hijack this thread, but maybe clarify... why does the term "turn to the left" apply to something circular? Is it from driving vehicles and going left required a person to turn the wheel CCW?
You hear it all the time with valves, screws and bolts. What if a person does not know how to drive? So I hope the OP knows "twist left" means in a CCW direction.

The amount of travel on the turn (or twist, if you prefer) is very small, not even 1/4 turn. A small amount of movement and then pull straight out.

I've made the same argument; I was always unimpressed with "lefty loosey right tighty". Also when the nut or bolt is upside down or otherwise facing away from you, there's one more wrinkle added.
Anyway, yeah, I twisted it ccw, without pulling. I certainly didn't try pushing in but I didn't see any room for it to move. I'll give it another shot

Turn it back/forth then lefty loosie and rock it while pulling

It certainly moved a bit but it didn't feel like a mechanism so much as possibly just the the yellow rubber cover sliding and generally play in everything involved. By looking at the image of the outlet above, if it's the prongs that do the locking and the image isn't mirrored, it looks like you would turn clockwise to disengage those hooks. ... but I turned it way harder than would be reasonable in both directions without producing any satisfying action.
Reality is I don't have any great reason to remove it anyway and I suspect I'm not the first owner to say that... I'll probably just leave it be.

Until it melts & lets the smoke out due to loose contacts, bad contacts, loose wiring etc
They turn CCW to remove...CW to engage
When turning does the cord turn with the yellow cover OR just the cover and cord doesn't turn???

Picture in post 2 looks like you need to turn clockwise to loosen and remove.
The yellow rubber boot might slide off the connector so you could turn the connector itself easier.
