Installed 50 AMP pedestal at the house for my coach. Just make sure you "pair or join" neutral and ground at the pedestal NOT at the coach. You don't want to be an easy route for power to ground while leaning or touching your RV. That's a "one time" event. 8 ft, grounding rod is cheap.

Are you "positively sure" about your statement in RED above?
I would double check that information before leading some people astray that are not that electrical savvy including me. I know enough to be very dangerous to myself at least.

Many older homes and RV parks do not have ground running from the panel box, just neutral and (2) 110V lines. Newer coaches are looking for this pairing and if it's not there they will shut down shore power. The reason for pairing at the pedestal is if you have a short you want it to go to ground before the coach and not use you as a route to ground while touching the coach. If your house as a 240V ground wire it's paired at the panel box.
