A/C issue

I have a Coleman unit in my Damon Intruder. When I turn it on, the fan starts then the compressor tries to start but then stops. It'll keep cycling but doesn't stay on. Any ideas? Thank you!

Could be the compressor or just a capacitor. Will take some investigation.

Are you plugged into a good power source or a home standard outlet ? Are you using a thin gauge extension cord ?

The first thing to check would be the capacitors. You'll need to climb up on the roof and take the cover off the air conditioner to get at the service panel covering the capacitors. Check all the wiring connections and connectors while you're at it. The brand and model of the capacitor are irrelevant - only the voltage and mfd ratings are important. The replacement parts must match the old ones.

There are a lot of Youtube videos showing how to test them.

I would check the start capacitor and attached PTCR device. It sounds like the internal compressor overload is tripping because the compressor will not start.
