A/C Startup resetting clocks

I searched and didn't find the exact problem I'm having. This weekend we had both A/C's running (90+ degrees outside) and every time the compressor would kick in all our digital clocks including microwave clock would reset. I wasn't able to get an amperage reading during startup, but several checks of the amps while the compressor was running only revealed around 13-15 amps on each unit. This was at a park with very stable power. I've seen posts and the website for "easy start" products, but before I spend $300 for each A/C unit is there something other problem I should be looking for ? Of course both Coleman Mach 1's are 20 years old (to my knowledge), but they still work great. TIA

Full load peak amp draw is on startup. That sounds like your issue. Running amps basically tell you very little in your situation.
Numerous things can have some effect on starting amp draw. However, given the age of the units, age would be my guess. An “easy start” capacitor may help reduce your starting amp draw enough to rectify the issue for now.
Most a/c units are closed coolant systems. however, some units are modified over the years to be able to add a coolant charge. If yours has been modified (or you can find someone to do it) you could check the coolant charge.
An easy start capacitor is a fairly straight forward installation. You should be able to buy one and self install it for far less than $300.
Have you tried only running one a/c unit at a time?
