A/C unit doa

Our front Ac has died for the second time. We replaced it in 2017, it has very few hours on it and it has died again. It's a coleman I think. Do you have to replace with the same brand or can some other brand be used? We have two additional AC's.
If replaceable with another brand ,what is the best one out there for roof top AC's?

When you say front ac I assume you are talking about the number one roof unit, if you have a Freon leak just replace it, most anything else can be repaired. All the fans and capacitors and blower motors are easy replaced. I agree the Coleman units are problematic ,however they are on the majority of class A units
On the market today. Is yours not blowing or not cooling ?

Ac

The ac was not cooling, my RV tech checked it and it is DOA for the second time. That is why I am wondering if a different brand can be installed. Thanks.

I replaced both A/C units with the Dometic Penguin II high-capacity heat pumps. I chose to buy the 5-year extended warranty because it seems that if they are going to fail it will be shortly after the 3-year factory warranty expires!

We replaced both of our ancient A/C's with Coleman-Airxcel 15k BTU heat pumps a couple of months ago. Coleman offers an inexpensive parts-only extended warranty that provides five years of coverage (from initial purchase).

So far I have been very impressed with the units. We've used them a couple of times for heat and they've handled that task with plenty of capacity to spare.
