Gentleman for the past few years I "007" and many others have been trying to get the word out to many members on IRV2 and the many not on irv2 thru Google and other web sites.
Your latest request for irv2 to inform the public
is rewarding but some what late for some involved with noted fires.
All the links in this thread
have been out on web sites many times since 1997 and RVer's now in 2013 are still dealing with your problems.
MFG's are stuck with your defective refrigerators even now in 2013 but have gotten smart in offering a residential option in many of their model line ups.
Many members are removing the Norcold and installing a residential refrigerator.
Many RVer's are changing their cooling units
over to the excellent Amish unit
for better cooling and safety.
That has led to the possibility of fires and discussions of fire extinguishers.
I have the Norcold 1200 series from 2003 in my coach the fridge has worked for me with out any trouble since purchase its a good fridge in my view except for the now recalled cooling unit problem.
I use to have my fridge on during the summer months until 09 when I had my first and only recall
done at the Newmar factory, now I leave it off when not in use.
Yes thru the years since, I do get your recall letters to upgrade to versions B,C,D,F and in fact a personal call from someone in your company.
What ever I said to that person never reached you I can see.
Your refrigerators are use by many people for ease of use while boon-docking or traveling from campground to the next,Full-timers and retired travelers so they are a requirement for everyone.
The 2013 new Norcolds I have notice have some changes
, I have told people its to early to say they no longer have a problem on their new 2013 Norcold refrigerators.
As courtesy to all NEW motor home owners
in your next group of new refrigerators, installing a cooling unit like the Amish or one as equivalent, the cost by them would be nil in purchasing a new coach and maybe we will see Norcold or Dometic back advertizing their new safe refrigerators again.
Thanks for the possible reading "007"
